The Journey Follow the traveller's path from north to south.

From the frozen Iron Pines to the fiery Breaker Isles, the traveller’s journey reveals how each region and its warriors, spirits, and courts move together within the world of Edo Ball.

The journey begins in the far north, where the Iron Pines rise through snow and silence. The air is sharp, the courts are cold, and every match is built on defense and discipline.

From here, the red trail winds south — through lands shaped by warriors, spirits, and stories that await beyond the mountains...

The Iron Pines

Where silence teaches strength.

In the frozen north, the land itself tests all who enter. The Iron Pines stretch across endless mountains, forests, and coastal cliffs, where animals, spirits, and warriors align. Here, The Winter Shogun rules with calm ferocity, his region built on loyalty, defense, and endurance. Beneath the watchful peaks stands the Temple of Hoops, its courts carved from sacred stone. In the Iron Pines, victory belongs to the pack — their unity the shield that guards the land.

Warriors

The Winter Shogun

The Winter Shogun rules the Iron Pines with patience and control. Raised by wolves, he learned survival through the pack, to move only when the land moved, to strike only when the moment demanded. His defense is the foundation on which he built his rule and his region. Warriors under his watch play as a team, guarding their home as fiercely as their honor. His lessons carry through the snow: control over chaos, focus over pride, and the strength to protect the land that raised him.

Locations

Temple of Hoops

High in the Iron Pines, the Temple of Hoops stands open to the sky, lines carved in stone by generations, twenty-one steps to the court, and a bell only the winner may ring. The Black Bear rules here with calm authority, his game slow, patient, and certain. They say the spirits still gather in the mist surrounding the court — The Ghost drifting silent, The Spirit Snatcher waiting for the final shot.

The Golden Court

Where mastery meets the light.

Where ambition shines brightest and shadows stretch longest lies the Golden Court, the beating heart of Edo Ball. From the bamboo courts of the Capital to the mountain pass of The Journey at Dusk, this land is ruled by precision, hierarchy, and order. Every motion is deliberate, every sound purposeful; the game played like ceremony beneath the Emperor’s. Here, basketball is law — every move a reflection of order, mastery, and control.

Warriors

The Eternal Shogun

The Eternal Shogun leads the Golden Court with quiet precision and absolute command. A general of unmatched discipline, he forged order from chaos, turning raw talent into empire. His movements are deliberate, his decisions final, a single dunk enough to shift the momentum of a game or an army. Under his lead, the game finds balance and confidence flows through every pass, purpose through every drive.

Locations

The Journey At Dusk

Beyond the Capital, high above the river gorge, lies The Journey at Dusk, a court carved into the mountain where hoopers battle beneath the moonlight. Reaching it is half the challenge; the climb rewards those who endure with a court where the game continues long after sundown. It was on this court that The Eternal Shogun and The Daimyo once faced each other until night surrendered.

Leaving behind the capital’s order and rule, the path opens into a new land. The road south leads to the Thousand Fans — where the game is played through art and craft...

The Thousand Fans

Where play becomes art, and motion becomes meaning.

West of the capital lies the Thousand Fans, a region led by The Rock Maker and defined by grace, craftsmanship, and calm. Here, basketball is played with patience and precision, shaped by those who see movement as art and competition as creation. Every court tells a story, each craftsman a brushstroke shaping the world of Edo Ball.

Spirits

The Rock

They say The Rock was born from The Cascading Game — a spirit shaped by centuries of water and patience. The Rock Maker was the first to lift it, feeling the spirit that would become the game itself. Across The Thousand Fans, every bounce is an echo of that moment, a reminder that mastery begins with craft, not force. The Rock endures as the soul of Edo Ball: grounded, eternal, and honest in every game.

Air Geisha

Once a samurai of the old Capital, the Air Geisha found new purpose in The Thousand Fans, bringing elegance and art to the court. Every spin, step back, and release is deliberate, a fusion of dance and discipline that turns her game into art. To watch her play is to see the Thousand Fans come alive, where art and basketball move as one.

Leaving behind the calm and craft of the Thousand Fans, the path turns south toward the sea. The air thickens with salt and wind, and the sound of waves replaces the quiet of the courts. Ahead lie the Breaker Isles — where spirits and tide move as one...

The Breaker Isles

Where sea and spirit shape the game.

Far to the south, The Breaker Isles rise from the sea, a chain of rugged coasts forged by the ocean and the fire beneath it. Here, the game is played with raw instinct and endless spirit, each match as unpredictable as the tide. The land breathes power, rich with soil born from the ocean and the volcanoes that surround it. Watched over by the Bonsai Baller, the Isles’ calm guardian and spiritual guide, he teaches that true strength lies in care and that the game, like the land, must be tended to grow.

Spirits

Bonsai Baller

High on the coastal ridges lives the Bonsai Baller — the spiritual leader of the Breaker Isles. Both gardener and guardian, he shapes his region as he shapes his game: with care, restraint, and repetition. To his followers, each game is meditation, every movement a lesson in balance. Under his guidance, chaos finds order, and strength grows in spirit.

The Sumo

Shaped by the black sands and fertile soil of The Breaker Isles, The Sumo draws his power from the land itself. He trains where the sea meets fire, his strength forged by tide and terrain alike. Each post-up carries the patience of growth, roots deep in the ground, every dunk with power. Off the coast, he journeys to Isolation Island, where silence tests his balance and the wind sharpens his focus.
